Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge has defended Kelly Olynyk after his incident with Kevin Love earlier this week.
Love and Olynyk got tangled up during game four of the opening-round playoff series between the Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers, which left the former with a dislocated shoulder.
The star power forward accused Olynyk of intentionally injuring him, but that was rejected immediately by the Celtics star and Ainge has defended him.
"I think that that's a little bit over the top," Ainge said, according to ESPN.
"It's understandable in the heat of the battle. I feel bad for Kevin Love because he's waited a long time to get where their team is right now, and now he doesn't get a chance to play. But I certainly don't think that Kelly did it on purpose."
Love underwent surgery on his shoulder earlier this week, and was ruled out for the remainder of the post-season.
