Great Britain's Jessica Ennis-Hill has pulled out of the upcoming World Championships in Moscow with an Achilles problem.

The Olympic heptathlon champion revealed at the recent Anniversary Games in London that the she is struggling with her fitness.

"We have been focusing on managing the pain," Ennis-Hill, 27, is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "The time has now come to stop chasing fitness and look to cure the problem."

The 2013 World Championships get underway at the Luzhniki Stadium on August 10.
