Allyson Felix: "I couldn't have asked for a greater Olympics"

America's Allyson Felix reveals that her three gold medals in London have helped her forget the pain she suffered in Beijing.

Allyson Felix has revealed that the three gold medals that she won at the London Olympics have helped her overcome the disappointment of Beijing four years ago.

Despite heading into the Games in China as the favourite to win gold in the 200m, the 26-year-old could only manage a silver medal - a loss that she said at the time would take a long while to recover from.

However, having won golds in the 200m, 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay in the English capital over the past few days, the American believes that she has now banished the ghost of 2008.

"It's just funny thinking about Beijing and how everything was left off there," she told reporters. "It happened for a reason and it motivated me and kept me passionate and striving for my goals and stuff. I couldn't have asked for a greater Olympics.

"I just feel so blessed and this is just such an awesome way to round it off running the 4x400m on the last night, it just couldn't have been better."

Felix also won silver in the individual 200m at the 2004 Games in Beijing.
