British Athletics name Jessica Ennis-Hill for World Athletics Championships

Olympic champion Jessica Ennis-Hill leads the British Athletics team for the upcoming World Athletics Championships.

Jessica Ennis-Hill has been named in the British Athletics squad for next month's World Athletics Championships in Beijing.

The 29-year-old's participation in China had been in some doubt due to the fact that she has only recently returned to action following the birth of her first child last year.

However, earlier today the Olympic champion took to Instagram to confirm that she had decided to compete in the heptathlon, subject to her being selected.

It has also been revealed that Mo Farah will double up in the men's 5,000m and 10,000m, while Greg Rutherford has been included in the long jump. Those two British athletes, along with Ennis-Hill, were a part of the famous evening at London 2012 when they all won gold medals in quick succession.

Elsewhere, Adam Gemili has shaken off a hamstring complaint to be included in the men's 4x100m relay team, but there is no place for either Martyn Rooney or Dai Greene.
