Great Britain's 400m runner Martyn Rooney has admitted that he has a "taste for winning" ahead of next year's World Athletics Championships.
The 27-year-old secured the first individual title of his career at the European Championships in August.
Having also helped Team GB to win the men's 4x400m relay at the same event, Croydon-born Rooney has revealed that he is now determined to build upon that success.
"In the back of my mind, I am thinking this is the start of the next phase in your career. I have to go into the Worlds next year and do well," he told Team GB's official website.
"It's not just about being one of the team and making finals anymore. I've got the taste for winning now, so I've got to try and do it again."
Earlier this year, Rooney also finished fourth at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
