Christine Ohuruogu 'taking each round as it comes'

Great Britain's Christine Ohuruogu insists that she is taking each round as it comes having qualified for the women's 400m final in Beijing.

Christine Ohuruogu has insisted that she is taking "each round as it comes" as she bids to win a third title at the World Athletics Championships.

The 31-year-old powered into the women's 400m final in Beijing with the third fastest qualifying time, winning her semi-final with a season's best of 50.16s.

The reigning champion struggled by contrast in the heats, but insists that her preparation for Thursday's final is on track.

"I was just doing my job. I haven't had time to process the race; it was nice to come back with a win and I did," she told BBC Sport.

"This win was for me, it's part of my planning and preparation for the final. Knowing how to win helps but nothing is ever given. I just treat each round as it comes."

Ohuruogu won the world title in 2007 and again in 2013, while she also won Olympic gold at Beijing's Bird's Nest Stadium in 2008.
