Chijindu Ujah "gutted" by Diamond League performance

Great Britain's Chijindu Ujah admits that he was left "gutted" by his performance in the 100m final at the Birmingham Diamond League meeting.

Great Britain sprinter Chijindu Ujah has described himself as "gutted" following his performance in the 100m final of the Birmingham Diamond League meet this afternoon.

Ujah recorded a time of 10.11s to finish sixth out of the seven runners, having qualified for the final with a time of 10.06s.

The 21-year-old had the worst reaction time of any of the finalists, and he acknowledged that his poor start cost him a good time in favourable conditions.

"I'm gutted. Good conditions... I felt I rocked back in the set, I was a bit twitchy. But 10.11s, I'll take that with rocking, I'll take that," Ujah told Sports Mole.

Ujah's compatriots Adam Gemili and Richard Kilty both set new personal bests on their way to finishing second and sixth respectively.
