Morgan Lake "happy" with pentathlon showing

Morgan Lake says that she is pleased with her performance in the pentathlon at the European Indoor Championships, but was disappointed by her 800m display.

Great Britain's Morgan Lake has said that she is happy with her overall performance in the pentathlon at the European Indoor Championships.

The 17-year-old had moved up to third in the standings after clearing 1.92m in the high jump, but she finished outside of the time required in the 800m and finished in ninth place.

"I'm happy overall," Lake told BBC Sport. "I'm not ecstatic but it was a solid day. The 800m was annoying, I ran it badly."

Lake's fellow Brit Katarina Johnson-Thompson claimed gold with a British record of 5,000 points.
