Jessica Ennis-Hill makes training return

Olympic heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis-Hill returns to training for the first time since giving birth earlier this year.

British heptathlete Jessica Ennis-Hill has admitted that she is 'excited' to start her preparation for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Ennis-Hill, who won gold at London 2012, missed the entire 2014 campaign to give birth to her first child, but the Yorkshire athlete has revealed that she has started to ease back into training.

The 28-year-old posted on Instagram: "Back in the gym...building back into training. It's exciting and slightly scary! My journey to Rio starts now."

Ennis-Hill's absence this year saw her miss both the Commonwealth Games and European Championships.
