British triple jumper Phillips Idowu's participation at the Olympic Games has been thrown into doubt following reports that he has a trapped nerve behind his left knee.
The complaint prevented the 33-year-old from taking part in a training camp in Portugal over the weekend.
As a result, the BOA yesterday requested a copy of Idowu's medical records to determine the extent of his problem.
The 2008 silver medallist also failed to inform the Team GB medical staff of the injury when he was selected for the squad that will compete at the Games, according to Sky Sports News.
Idowu is expected to retire at the conclusion of the London Olympics.
