Mo Farah becomes the most successful individual athlete in European Championship history after securing gold in the men's 5,000m in Zurich.

Great Britain's Mo Farah has won his second gold medal of the 2014 European Championships, having come out on top in the men's 5,000m final.

The 31-year-old, who won his first medal of the competition in last week's 10,000m discipline, finished the race in a time of 14:05.82.

Hayle Ibrahimov provided Farah's biggest threat to gold, but he fell short and had to settle for silver, while there was more joy for Team GB as Andy Vernon secured bronze.

Farah is now the most successful individual athlete in the competition's history.
