Rio 2016 Olympic organisers review security measures following Paris attacks

Organisers for the Rio 2016 Olympics confirm that they are reviewing their security measures following the terrorist attacks in Paris.

The organisers of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio are planning to review their safety measures following the recent attacks in Paris.

Director of communications Mario Andrada has confirmed that security arrangements will be looked into in light of the terrorist attacks, which left 17 people dead.

"We worked for the [2014] World Cup with a system that linked the state police, the federal police, the federal intelligence agency and the military," The Guardian quotes Andrada as saying.

"Our security plan has been approved by all levels of government. I understand from the security director that they review their plans on a bi-weekly basis and that the Paris incident was the theme of a recent revision."

Organisers for the World Cup in Brazil faced heavy criticism last year for their preparations.
