110m hurdler Andy Turner will miss next year's indoor season after undergoing ankle surgery.

British 110m hurdler Andy Turner has undergone surgery on both ankles that will force him to miss next year's indoor season.

Turner's 2012 campaign was dogged by injuries that contributed to his failing to qualify for the Olympic 110m hurdles final and the 32-year-old has admitted that he is hoping to compete pain-free next season.

He told his official website: "I'm just trying to get pain free and make amends for a poor 2012.

"It sounds a lot worse than it is. I should be back in full training by Christmas, so unfortunately, Indoor this year will not be happening."

Turner won gold at the 2010 European Championships.
