British marathon runner Paula Radcliffe is left out of UK Athletics' World Class Performance Programme and loses her National Lottery funding as a result.

Marathon world record holder Paula Radcliffe has lost her National Lottery funding after UK Athletics removed her from the World Class Performance Programme.

The 38-year-old was expected to be left out of the list, which is divided into Podium and Podium Potential groups, after she was forced to drop out of the Olympic marathon due to injury.

Olympic high jump bronze medallist Robbie Grabarz and Paralympic 100m gold medallist Jonnie Peacock have been included in the list following their triumphs at London 2012.

UKA Performance Director Neil Black said: "Being part of the World Class Performance Plan is a privilege and not a right and athletes selected will be expected to fulfill tough performance criteria.

"We have identified a very talented group of athletes for support over the coming year and I am confident that we can build on the success of the last Olympic and Paralympic cycle starting with the European Indoors in Gothenburg in March."

Long distance runner Mo Farah retains his spot in the top tier of funding while Paralympic champion David Weir also keeps his place in the programme.
