Paula Radcliffe: 'Athletics in good hands under Lord Sebastian Coe'

Paula Radcliffe believes that the future of athletics is in "good hands" after Lord Sebastian Coe was elected IAAF president.

Three-time London Marathon winner Paula Radcliffe is confident that the future of athletics is in "good hands" after Lord Sebastian Coe was elected as the new president of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).

The British former Olympian earned 115 votes, beating Sergey Bubka's 92 at the 50th IAAF Congress in Beijing today.

Currently, athletics is in the spotlight due to doping allegations, but Radcliffe is optimistic about the future following Coe's appointment.

On Twitter, she wrote: "Congratulations @sebcoe The future of our sport is in good hands. Thank the Lord!"

Coe, who has replaced Lamine Diack, will officially take office on August 31.
