Jo Pavey named British Athletics Athlete of the Year

Jo Pavey wins the British Athletics Athlete of the Year Award, having claimed 10,000m gold at the 2014 European Championships.

European Championships gold medallist Jo Pavey has won the British Athletics Athlete of the Year Award.

The 41-year-old won the 10,000m gold medal at the 2014 European Championships in Zurich to become the oldest female champion in history.

She had claimed bronze in the 5,000m at the Commonwealth Games a month before her victory in Switzerland.

Pavey has also been nominated for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.
