Mo Farah has admitted that he is "disappointed" to have finished eighth on his debut at the marathon in London.
The double Olympic champion finished the course in 2:08.21, finishing just over a minute outside Steve Jones's 29-year-old British record.
The 31-year-old told BBC Sport: "I will be back. I'm not going to finish it like this. I gave it my all but I'm disappointed I didn't go out there and give what the crowd deserve.
"It was pretty tough. I'm disappointed but you try things and sometimes it doesn't work, you have to give it a go. You learn, life goes on."
World record holder Wilson Kipsang from Kenya won the race for the second time, finishing almost four minutes ahead of Farah.
