Asafa Powell has said that he is taking a more relaxed approach to running, after claiming victory in the 100m in the quarter-finals of the Jamaican Athletics Championships.
The 32-year-old finished ahead of Yohan Blake with a time of 9.98 seconds to book his place in the semi-finals, which are due to take place later this evening.
"This is a new me," Powell told TrackAlerts. "I'm just enjoying it, it's no big deal.
"Over the years I have been making it a real big deal and putting too much pressure on myself, so now I am going to relax and do what I am supposed to do.
"It was a very good race... I just wanted to win it as easy as possible. My coach told me to just run the first 40m and just control the race and take it home easy, so that's what I did."
Powell has broken the 10-second barrier in the 100m more times than any other athlete in history.
