Usain Bolt has said that he was happy to claim his third successive Olympic gold medal in the 100m final, despite admitting that he had hoped to record a faster time.
The Jamaican finished first in a time of 9.81s to edge out rival Justin Gatlin in Rio de Janeiro, but the seven-time Olympic gold medallist has acknowledged that he was disappointed with his time in the final.
The 29-year-old told BBC Sport: "It was brilliant. I am really happy.
"I expected to go faster but the time was so quick where we had to come back out and I think that's why I didn't run faster. I'm just happy that I won and that is the key thing."
Bolt now turns his attention to trying to win gold in the 200m and the 4x100m relay.
