Christine Ohuruogu eases into 400m semi-finals at European Championships

Great Britain's Christine Ohuruogu is into the 400m semi-finals at the European Championships thanks to a season-best time.

Great Britain's Christine Ohuruogu has reached the 400m semi-finals at the European Championships in Zurich with a season-best time.

The 30-year-old world champion crossed the finishing line with a time of 51.42s on Tuesday as she eased through her heat.

Ohuruogu's personal best in the 400m is 49.41s, which she achieved at last year's World Championships.

The London-born athlete is due to return to the track on Wednesday to see if she can book her place in the final.
