Meghan Beesley out of Commonwealth Games with foot injury

England hurdler Meghan Beesley will miss the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow after suffering a stress fracture in her foot.

England hurdler Meghan Beesley has been ruled out of the Commonwealth Games after picking up a foot injury.

The 24-year-old was forced to pull out of the Glasgow Grand Prix earlier this month after experiencing pain in her foot, which has now been diagnosed as a stress fracture.

She wrote on Twitter: "Unfortunately I have had to pull out of Commonwealth Games with a stress fracture in my foot! Still excited to watch it."

Beesley broke the world record for the 200m hurdles at the Great City Games in Manchester earlier this year.
