Aled Davies throws a Paralympic record to win gold in the men's discus.

Great Britain's Aled Davies has won gold in the men's F42 discus competition.

Davies threw a new Paralympic record of 46.14m with his final throw, having already secured gold.

The 21-year-old was in supreme form throughout the competition.

He threw 45.31 with his first attempt, which would have been enough to win.

Davies then bettered that with his third attempt before beating the Paralympic record with his final throw.

Iran's Mehrdad Karam Zadeh won the silver medal with a personal best 44.62m, while China's Lezheng Wang threw 42.81m to take the bronze medal.
