Damien Warner extends his lead in the decathlon with a dominant performance in the 110m hurdles.

Canada's Damien Warner has extended his lead in the decathlon with a new Games record in the 110m hurdles on Tuesday morning.

Warner stormed away from his rivals in the early stages of the third heat with a perfect display, and his time of 13.50s means that he remains firm favourite for the gold medal.

Ashley Bryant struggled after hitting the first two hurdles, but there was a boost for John Lane, who finished third to remain in second place in the overall standings.

Curtis Matthews claimed victory in the first heat with a personal best time of 14.88s to finish ahead of Kurt Felix, who currently occupies third spot, and England's Martin Brockman.

Peter Glass of Northern Ireland enjoyed a strong race in the second race to come home as runner-up behind Australia's Stephen Cain, who clocked 14.85s.
