Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan has refused to comment on his relationship with team owner Dan Snyder as speculation over his future grows.
The Redskins have had a disappointing season this year, falling to their fifth consecutive defeat and 10th overall when they were thrashed 45-10 by the Kansas City Chiefs yesterday.
Shanahan's future with the team beyond the end of this season is uncertain, and his position was further called into question after reports surfaced suggesting that he was close to quitting at the end of last year due to his relationship with Snyder and quarterback Robert Griffin III.
"It's not the right time or place to talk about my relationship with Dan Snyder, or it's not the right time and place to talk about something that happened a year ago," Shanahan told The AP.
"I'll get a chance to talk to Dan at the end of the season, and I'll give some viewpoints from me, and I'm sure he'll give me his thoughts and what direction we'll go."
Shanahan also took the blame for his side's thumping at the hands of the Chiefs, admitting that he had not prepared the players well enough.
"I didn't have the players ready to play," Shanahan added.
The Redskins currently sit bottom of the NFC East with the joint second-worst record in the NFL.
