The Chiefs started the game well on offense as they shifted downfield with ease but were held out of the endzone as Ryan Succop kicked a 33-yard field goal to hand them the lead.

On their next possession, though, the Chiefs did find the endzone. Smith drove them downfield and into the redzone, and handed the ball off to Jamaal Charles, who ran in for a two-yard score.

It got even worse for the Redskins as Robert Griffin III threw an interception into the hands of Derrick Johnson which set up yet another score. Smith threw to Dwayne Bowe on a slant route and he cruised through two poor tackles to get into the endzone for a 21-yard touchdown.

The Chiefs piled on the misery for the Redskins and extended their lead yet again; this time Smith dropped back in the pocket and found Charles in the endzone with a pass over the middle for a five-yard score.

Just when the Redskins thought that their woes could not get worse, they did as Sam Rocca's punt was returned for a touchdown by Dexter McCluster for a 74-yard touchdown.

The Redskins responded as Griffin engineered a drive just before the end of the half and found Logan Paulsen in the endzone for a seven-yard touchdown.

However, from the resulting kickoff the Chiefs went in the endzone for the fifth time of the half as Quentin Demps ran through the line for a 95-yard touchdown.

Kai Forbath kicked a 50-yard field goal just before the break to make it a 28-point game.
