Washington Redskins wide receiver Andre Roberts has admitted that he is concerned about what the addition of DeSean Jackson will mean for his own role within the team.
Roberts joined the Redskins on the opening day of free agency and was widely expected to be the team's number two receiver next season, behind Pierre Garcon.
However, Jackson was quickly snapped up by Washington following his controversial release from the Philadelphia Eagles last month, and Roberts acknowledged that he may now need to settle for being the third-choice receiver.
"I envisioned one thing and then we signed DeSean Jackson. So I haven't really thought too much. That's how the league is, that's how the league works," Roberts told ESPN.
"Going into my situation, I wanted to be the number two receiver. But I still don't how it's going to work out. Obviously, when you look at how much money is being made [for] each guy, you'd think that's going to be [the] number one, number two and number three.
"I think I'll be returning. Anytime I feel like I can get my hands on the ball, I want to do it. If I can get back there and return some kicks and return some punts for this team, I'm going to be pretty happy."
Roberts admitted that his time as the number three receiver with the Arizona Cardinals last year was "frustrating" after recording just 43 receptions all season.
