Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III has revealed that he will not wear his knee brace during the 2014 season.
Griffin was forced to wear the brace throughout the 2013 campaign having torn multiple ligaments in his right knee during a playoff defeat at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks at the end of the 2012 season.
The 24-year-old struggled with the brace on as the Redskins won just three games all season, and he confirmed that he would no longer need it to protect his surgically repaired knee.
"It's safe to say I won't be wearing the brace [in 2014]," Griffin is quoted as saying by CSN Washington.
Griffin finished last season with 16 touchdown passes and 12 interceptions compared to 20 touchdowns and five interceptions in his rookie campaign.
