Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III called for the 'wrong protection' during last Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, it has been revealed.

Griffin threw an interception in the final play of the game against the Eagles, and receiver Santana Moss said earlier in the week that Griffin must take the blame for his performance.

On Wednesday, CNN Washington reporter Chick Hernandez said that although Griffin got things wrong, the team appeared united on the practice field.

Hernandez said via Twitter: "Redskins team sources confirm to me Robert Griffin III called the wrong protection on their final offensive play Sunday.

"His postgame comments regarding "no one got open" rubbed teammates the wrong way considering the miscommunication. Today the locker room was unified in their support of the QB. #redskinstalk."

The Redskins are currently bottom of the NFC East and, having lost their last two matches, face the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night.
