Tennessee Titans' Michael Griffin expects deep New York Jets throwing game

The Tennessee Titans are expecting Geno Smith to throw long on Sunday.

Tennessee Titans safety Michael Griffin has revealed that his side expect to have to defend plenty of deep throws from a New York Jets offense run by rookie Geno Smith.

Griffin said that Smith's ability means that the Titans should not prepare for the game as if he was a rookie quarterback, but treat him with as much respect as any other.

"Just watching film, they throw the deep ball more [than last year]," Griffin told the club's official website.

"Geno Smith is growing in confidence with each game. He's going to try to test us. We can't look at him as a rookie quarterback. There's a reason they went with him as a starter."

Smith has thrown for 801 yards in the Jets' opening three games of the season.
