Lovie Smith already impressed by Mike Evans

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Lovie Smith admits that he is very pleased with what he has seen so far from rookie wide receiver Mike Evans during the club's minicamp.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Lovie Smith has revealed that he has been impressed with what he has seen so far from rookie wide receiver Mike Evans.

The Buccaneers selected Evans seventh overall in the 2014 Draft out of the Texas A&M Aggies, and he has pleased his coach with his performances in the club's rookie minicamp.

"You talk to the players about doing something to make the coaches notice them," Smith told the Tampa Bay Times.

"And seeing how guys can perform on the center stage. We have a first-round draft pick. Great catch by Mike Evans out there today but he's been doing that all week. He's a good football player."

Evans recorded 59 receptions for 1,394 yards along with 12 touchdowns for the Aggies in the 2013 season.
