Jonathan Tisch hopeful of another New York City Super Bowl

New York Giants co-owner Jonathan Tisch says that the Super Bowl should be held in the city once a decade.

The New York Giants' Jonathan Tisch has echoed the statements of fellow co-owner John Mara by calling for the Super Bowl to return to the city.

Mara said on Monday that he felt the NFL would come away from New York happy with their decision to have it held there for the first time, and now Tisch has backed up his words.

Speaking to The AP, Tisch said: "This is a legacy that will live beyond the game itself. For years to come, young people, men and women will feel that this game was important for the region.

"Hopefully, when we do all the tallying in the weeks to come, the other 30 team owners will say to themselves, if there is a chance to do this again, Super Bowl 48 in New York and New Jersey was a huge success. Let's try to do this once every 10 years."

The cold weather on the East Coast was a much discussed factor against having the season finale in the city, but the snow held off and it is expected that up to $600m (£367m) was generated in the region due to the match.

On the field, the Seattle Seahawks dominated the Denver Broncos to win their first ever championship.
