Oakland Raiders trade Terrelle Pryor to Seahawks

The Oakland Raiders trade quarterback quarterback Terrelle Pryor to the Seattle Seahawks in return for a seventh-round pick in next month's Draft.

The Oakland Raiders have traded quarterback Terrelle Pryor to the Seattle Seahawks in return for a seventh-round pick in next month's Draft.

Pryor lost his starting place with the Raiders midway through last season and saw his chances of regaining his spot effectively ended when the team brought in Matt Schaub from the Houston Texans last month.

The 24-year-old was the final player drafted by former Raiders owner Al Davis, joining the team in 2011 less than two months before Davis passed away.

He is expected to compete with Tarvaris Jackson and BJ Daniels for the backup spot at the Seahawks, with Russell Wilson still the number one choice quarterback.

"Terrelle is an incredibly explosive athlete and we're excited for him to come in and compete," Seahawks general manager John Schneider said in a statement.

Pryor passed for 1,798 yards, seven touchdowns and 11 interceptions before losing his spot to Matt McGloin last season.
