The San Francisco 49ers have scored a late field goal to beat the Seattle Seahawks at Candlestick Park in the NFL.
The 49ers used the first quarter to build up a healthy six-point advantage over the Hawks, as Phil Dawson produced two field goals from 23 and 48 yards.
However, Marshawn Lynch put the Hawks ahead after completing an 11-yard run, before Steven Hauschka added the extra for his side, putting the score at 7-6.
Dawson came back for the 49ers in the second quarter by adding another field goal, before the Hawks extended their lead when Luke Willson caught Russell Wilson's 39-yard pass to bring the score to 14-9.
The 49ers were able to snatch a slender lead to take into the break as Vernon Davis caught hold of an eight-yard pass from Colin Kaepernick, leaving the score at 16-14 when half time was called.
The third quarter came and went without any additions to the scoreline. Kaepernick needed only two yards for a first down, but took too long and was brought down by Malcolm Smith.
However, the Hawks went 17-16 ahead with a field goal in the fourth quarter. Hauschka did not get the cleanest of contacts, but managed to get his 31-yard effort inside the left upright.
The 49ers were not finished, though, and Phil Dawson won the match with his fourth field goal, making no mistake from 22 yards.
