San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree has practised and is making progress as he bids to return from an Achilles injury.
The 49ers have a three-week period to check on Crabtree's progress and make a decision as to whether he should be activated from the team's reserve/PUP list, allowing him to feature for the remainder of the season.
Crabtree said of his return to practice and catching the football on 49ers.com: "I'm really just trying to let my feet hit the ground when landing. And I've been sprinting hard.
"The doctors are telling me I'm going in the right direction, so we'll keep going, step by step.
"It's been a roller coaster. It was hard in the beginning. The day I got hurt was the day I was trying to come back. I'm just happy to be out here running routes."
Without Crabtree, the 49ers sit in second position of the NFC West with a 6-2 record.
