San Francisco 49ers general manager Trent Baalke has revealed that reports linking his club with Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson are "false".
The Eagles are reportedly ready to trade or release the 27-year-old due to his high salary over the next three years of his contract, and the 49ers were mentioned as potential suitors for his signature.
"Right now, he's under contract with the Philadelphia Eagles," Baalke told CSNBayArea.com.
"We've not made any contact with the Eagles relative to a trade for DeSean Jackson. As of this moment, those reports are totally misleading and false."
New York Jets owner Woody Johnson confirmed that his side were interested in signing the Pro Bowl receiver.
