San Diego Chargers cornerback Brandon Flowers has admitted that his side won't be taking the task of facing Kansas City Chiefs backup quarterback Chase Daniel lightly.
Daniel has been thrust into starting duty due to an injury to Alex Smith, who sustained a lacerated spleen in his side's defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers last week.
However, Flowers, who played with Daniel at the Chiefs last season, is adamant that the 28-year-old has the quality needed to dent the Chargers' playoff hopes.
"Chase is definitely capable," Flowers told reporters "We've got to go in ready to play. I know him. He's a fiery guy.
"He can make all of the plays. And this is his moment. He feels like this is his moment, so we've got to be well prepared."
The Chargers need a victory to secure their place in the AFC playoffs.
