Mike Tomlin: 'Draft picks are collective decisions'

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin insists that the team's Draft picks are collective decisions supported by the whole organisation.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has insisted that all of the team's Draft picks are collective decisions that the entire organisation supports.

Tomlin recently said that he took full responsibility for all of the Steelers' picks in the Draft since he became coach in 2007, including the "easy" decision to choose Le'Veon Bell over Eddie Lacy at running back this year.

However, when asked whether he had the final say on the decisions in the Draft, Tomlin insisted that the process was very much a collective one.

"I'm not getting into that. That's an off-season discussion and really it's irrelevant. Regardless of who antes up opinions, they're all Pittsburgh Steelers decisions and we stand collectively behind the decisions that we make as an organisation," Tomlin told reporters.

The Steelers are out of the playoff race as they sit third in the AFC North, three wins behind leaders the Cincinnati Bengals with just two games remaining.
