Antonio Brown: "Holdouts never go well"

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown insists that holding out of off-season and pre-season workouts "never go well".

Antonio Brown has dismissed talk that he could skip training camp for a big contract in the future, claiming that "holdouts never go well".

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant threatened to miss training camp with the NFC East side this year, eventually earning a five-year deal worth $70m, while New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul was holding out when he suffered a firework accident earlier this month, resulting in him losing a finger.

The Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver has three seasons left on a £43m deal which leaves him outside the top 10 highest paid wideouts in the league, but he told reporters: "Holdouts never go well. Just look at history. It always ends badly. It wouldn't be the best decision. I make a lot of money. I pull up to camp in Rolls-Royces.

"What I'm here to do today is show how hard I've been working, showcase that I can still be the best in the world and help my team win football games."

Brown, who has 3,197 receiving yards in the last two seasons, missed one off-season workout in April, resulting in speculation that he was pushing for a new deal, but later revealed that he had been attending the birth of his child.
