The Pittsburgh Steelers have confirmed that they have placed running back Le'Veon Bell on season-ending injured reserve with a knee injury.
The 23-year-old suffered the problem in his side's defeat to the Cincinnati Bengals when he fell awkwardly after being tackled down the sideline at Heinz Field.
The injury has been deemed serious enough to rule the Pro Bowler out for the rest of the campaign as the club have placed him on injured reserve.
Running back Isaiah Pead has been signed by the Steelers to replace Bell on their roster.
