Half-Time Report: Detroit Lions come back to lead Pittsburgh Steelers

The Detroit Lions come from 14-0 down to lead the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-20 at the halfway stage of their NFL match this evening.

The Detroit Lions have overturned a 14-point deficit to lead the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-20 at half time of their NFL match this evening.

The Steelers took the lead midway through the opening quarter when Ben Roethlisberger threw a short pass to Antonio Brown, who did the rest to pick up a 34-yard touchdown.

The same duo combined again shortly afterwards, with Brown this time finishing off a 47-yard score having once again been found by a short Roethlisberger pass.

The Lions got on the board early in the second quarter with a 35-yard David Akers field goal, but Shaun Suisham restored his side's 14-point advantage with a 25-yard kick of his own.

Detroit halved the gap with 10:27 left in the quarter when Calvin Johnson collected a Matthew Stafford pass for a 79-yard touchdown.

Suisham kicked another field goal to edge his side further ahead midway through the second quarter, but Johnson reduced the deficit to just three points with his second touchdown of the match, this time from a 19-yard pass from Stafford.

The Lions then ensured that they would take a lead into the half-time break when Joique Bell went over from two yards out with just 1:46 of the second quarter remaining.

Akers added a 19-yard field goal with seven seconds remaining in the half to extend the Lions' advantage to seven points at the halfway stage.
