The Philadelphia Eagles have signed linebacker DeMeco Ryans to a new two-year contract to ensure his stay at the club.
The 30-year-old's contract was due to expire after the 2015 season, but the club were keen to extend his tenure beyond the end of the next campaign.
Ryans's new deal with the club could be worth up to $10.5m (£7.1m), with $6.5m (£4.4m) guaranteed, which also lowers his salary cap number from $6.9m (£4.6m) to $3m (£2.1m) for the 2015 season.
The linebacker recorded 45 tackles and one interception for the Eagles last season before an Achilles tendon injury ended his campaign after eight matches.
