Philadelphia Eagles earn first pre-season win

The Philadelphia Eagles ease to a comfortable victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in their pre-season clash at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Philadelphia Eagles recorded their first win of pre-season by defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-21 at Lincoln Financial Field.

Chip Kelly's side took the lead in the first quarter as Nick Foles found LeSean McCoy on a screen pass and the running back sprinted 22 yards into the endzone for the score.

The Eagles extended their advantage as running back Darren Sproles ran in from one yard out, while Alex Henery fired a 36-yard field goal through the posts before the break.

Matthew Tucker handed the Eagles a 24-point lead with a one-yard run before the Steelers finally got on the scoreboard when Heath Miller hauled in a 27-yard touchdown pass from Ben Roethlisberger.

However, Tucker sealed the victory for his side with another one-yard run despite two late scores from the Steelers as backup quarterback Bruce Gradkowski found Darius Heyward-Bey and Martavis Bryant for 33-yard and three-yard strikes respectively.
