Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly says that Nick Foles and Michael Vick are still competing for the starting quarterback role.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly has said that Michael Vick and Nick Foles will continue to compete to be the team's starting quarterback.

Kelly told reporters yesterday that he is yet to decide how to split the workload for the pre-season game with the New England Patriots tomorrow.

Foles told the team's website: "I'm just going to go out there and play. I'm playing to win. I'm playing to put points on the board. That's what we have to do to be successful. Being a good teammate, when the defense is out there, I'm going to be cheering them on and when we're out there, I'll expect to score. That's my mindset always."

Vick added: "For me, at the end of the day, it's just playing football and regardless of who you're out there with, you need to be at your best and you've got to bring the best out of them, and that's what I look forward to doing on Friday night, and that's what has to happen."

Foles replaced Vick midway through the 2012 season after the 33-year-old sustained a concussion.
