Mark Sanchez hails Philadelphia Eagles offence

Quarterback Mark Sanchez reveals that he chose to join the Philadelphia Eagles due to the team's "exciting" offence.

Quarterback Mark Sanchez has credited the Philadelphia Eagle's offence as being the reason he chose to join the team this off-season.

Sanchez was released by the New York Jets earlier this year having missed the entire 2013 campaign with a shoulder injury, losing his starting job to Geno Smith.

The 27-year-old received offers from elsewhere before deciding on the Eagles, and he is excited at the prospect of linking up with the team's offensive players.

"I just kept thinking, 'Eagles. This is the place to be'. I really respected what they did last year," Sanchez told Newsday.

"And I think they have a ton of talent, especially at the wideout position, tight end position. They're just overflowing with guys that can play. So that's exciting for a quarterback.

"I was really drawn here because of the offensive minds here. I think what they did last year was just the tip of the iceberg."

The Eagles were knocked out in the wildcard playoff round last year, having finished the regular season with a 10-6 record.
