Oakland Raiders coach Dennis Allen has refused to speculate on the long-term uncertainty regarding the quarterback position in the team.
Rookie Matt McGloin has played the last four matches after Terrelle Pryor - who started the season - sustained an injury.
With the 2014 NFL Draft expected to be a 'quarterback heavy' one littered with talent in the position, the Raiders may look for a potential franchise asset if they can't decide on either of their current options.
Short-term however, it looks like McGloin will continue to take snaps.
Allen told The Sacramento Bee: "I don't think Matt has done anything to play himself out of that position for now.
"But we need to have a good evaluation of what we have at the quarterback position as we move forward. These last four weeks will be instrumental in us being able to do that."
The Raiders are 4-8 in the AFC West and are extremely unlikely to make the post-season.
