Texas A&M Aggies quarterback Johnny Manziel has confirmed that he will leave the school and declare for the 2014 NFL Draft.
Manziel follows fellow college stars Jadeveon Clowney, Teddy Bridgewater and Aggies teammate Mike Evans in choosing to be part of this year's underclassmen, despite still having two years of eligibility left at college level.
The number of college football players declaring to be part of the Draft is at a record high this year, according to NFL.com reporter Gil Brandt.
Brandt said via his personal Twitter account on Wednesday: "73 underclassmen declared for #NFLDraft in 2013, 52 drafted, 3 in top 10. As of last night, record 80 have declared, including @JManziel2.
"To be clear, Johnny Manziel has officially submitted declaration papers to #NFL for inclusing in 2014 draft, part of record 80 underclassmen."
The 21-year-old signal caller won the Heisman Trophy for his performances with the school during the 2012 season.
