The New York Jets have announced that they have signed first-round Draft pick Leonard Williams.
The 20-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the AFC East team, with the option of a fifth year if the club choose to exercise it before the 2018 campaign.
New York selected Williams with the sixth overall pick in the Draft to bolster their defensive line already occupied by Damon Harrison, Muhammad Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson.
"You can never have enough D-linemen," head coach Todd Bowles told the club's official website. "I had a bunch of D-linemen in Dallas when I was there, too, so having a lot of good football players doesn't matter.
"I think everyone on the D-line has to learn how to play across the board in our scheme anyway, so having him added to the mix just makes us better."
Williams recorded 218 tackles, 21 sacks and two interceptions in his three years with the USC Trojans.
