New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith has insisted that he is "not surprised" that his future at the team has come under scrutiny in recent weeks.
Smith made a solid start to his rookie NFL season having ousted the injured Mark Sanchez as the Jets' number one quarterback during training camp, but he has only managed one touchdown pass with eight interceptions in his last five matches.
Such poor form has led to questions over head coach Rex Ryan's decision to continue picking the 23-year-old, and Smith has acknowledged that no player in the league is safe from the chop if they are not playing well enough.
"Am I surprised? No, I think every player in the NFL, everyone's job is on the line, every single person. That's day to day. No-one's job is 100% secure," Smith told reporters.
The Jets are currently tied for second place in the NFC North, two wins behind the New England Patriots.
