New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan is hopeful that running back Chris Ivory will be able to regain his fitness in the coming days to return to the field in training camp.

The 25-year-old pulled out of his first practice on Wednesday after his hamstring tightened up during an individual drill.

Ryan told reporters: "I hope to get him out there soon. I thought it would be progressing a little bit better than it has."

Ivory moved to the Jets in April after being traded from the New Orleans Saints.
