New York Jets rookie quarterback Geno Smith has insisted that he has made good progress in the club's pre-season training camp.
Smith is the closest challenger to Mark Sanchez's starting place at the franchise, but he said that all he can do is focus on his own game.
"It's up to the coaches," Smith told The Express-Times. "I just evaluate myself and I don't worry about that other stuff. I feel like at this point, I'm at least close to where I should be.
"Am I perfect? No. But am I making good strides? Yes. As long as I stay on that track, I'll be fine."
Smith was the seventh overall pick in the 2013 draft.
